A heads up to those looking to stay at hotels near Walt Disney World, two popular nearby hotels will be receiving facelifts and name changes this year.
After spending more than $33 million last year to buy two Disney-area hotels, Hollywood-based AD1 Global is now converting them to new hotel brands.
The Comfort Inn Orlando – Lake Buena Vista will be converted to a Crowne Plaza and will be the first to introduce the brand’s new “work-life” prototype rooms.
The owner is renovating the guest rooms one floor at a time, from the top down. All should be turned over by March, with common areas completed by May.
The previous breakfast area will become a full-service restaurant with a bar, the hotel interior and exterior will receive a significant remodel.
Another nearby hotel, Royal Parc Suites, will be remodeled into a Staybridge Suites. Upgrades include landscaping, pool additions, lobby renovations, and a small movie theater. All of the hotel’s 224 suites will receive new flooring, furnishings, kitchen and bathroom. The goal is to be complete by April 2019.
AD1 Global is also working on developing three new hotels near Disney World which will share a new waterpark. We will update the latest on that development here on this blog.
