The holiday season is in full swing and Disney World has transformed into a magical winter wonderland full of holiday cheer. Seasonal shows and characters appear to spread holiday cheer. Each of the four parks, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom all have their unique holiday shows and decor. Each park offers a special holiday event, we’ll list them all below so you can plan your vacation accordingly
Starting in early November and running on select dates ending a few days before Christmas, the Magic Kingdom closes early for a separate event, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This event requires a separate ticket, but goes till midnight and offers a slew of parades, shows and meet-and-greets. See the official website here.
Starting in mid November and running on select dates until December 30th, Epcot World Showcase offers a their own holiday extravaganza. Explore sight, sounds and flavors of the season celebrating by different cultures. Enjoy seasonal live music performances, and take in the costumed performers throughout World Showcase. A 50 piece orchestra with an entire choir performs a candlelight processional 3 times a night. Finish the night with Epcot’s festive finale, with an impressive presentation of music, lights and lasers that comes to life every night. For more information see the official website here.
Starting in early November and running through the first week of January is Disney’s Hollywood Studio’ Flurry of Fun. Holiday decor and festive shows including the new Toy Story Land bring the park to life. The Tower of Terror is transforms with projection and lasers for a special holiday show. The main event happens in the Animation Courtyard with the nightly presentation of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Santa’s gone missing and a rescue ensues. Starting in early November and running through January 1st is a special presentation of UP! A Great Bird Adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Located in the Asia area of the park, discover the story of Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India. This is a 25 minute show and suitable for all ages.
